The type of values involved are explained fairly well in the document which is referred to as you type JPG-BROWSER in the BRIDGE2 panel at my sites http://www.yoga4d.com and http://www.yoga6d.com, and I use the JPG-BROWSER, the CURRENCY option and the TITLESEARCH option on my own sites frequently. It is of me important to state that each citizen should be law-abiding (unless we're talking of a sex-denying single-book-based tyrannic dictatorship of the worst kind in which conscientous objection to some of these laws becomes an ethical necessity). The artist, pursuing wholeness of body and mind, can meet images of the very very young and, a second or so later, can meet images of adult porn and such, without trying to blend the two in action. These are merely anatomical studies to which the avid artist with an acute mind and lively awareness can meet so as to get the creative impulse for new artworks -- which, if you see my own at yoga4d.com/talks -- can be in some sense highly abstract while at the same time directly learning from the skinniness of the rhythmic sports gymnastic child but having the posture of the young adult in bikini at beach. If you find it uncomfortable to explore sensuality in imagination at this level, or complicated to divide between the action level -- in which one must be law-abiding -- and the anatomy-stimulus level, where the aspiring artist as well as the learned artist must be revelling in a pletora of images of the healthy kind -- then I suggest you do not get on with running Lisa GJ2 programs (although only some of them involve such an artistically rich, though lawful-oriented, focus). (I am not now referring to the images and programs contained in this very package as here specified, but as to Lisa GJ2 programs you may quickly encounter as you go into it more fully -- if you are new to the Firth Lisa GJ2 enterprise.) The artistic focus has been coherent with the -- shall we say philosophical or meta-physical focus. For it has been a key proposition for the undersigned that the informal must have a priority, and the first-hand knowledge of intuitive awareness/facts, before any meeting with the algorithmic, let alone equations. As I endavour to explain several places, the Lisa GJ2 language is a KIND of theory: and a new kind of theory. THIS IS A WAY -- WITHOUT JAVA, WITH MACHINE CODE WORK DONE BY THE PEOPLE BEHIND DOSBOX EMULATION IN LINUX -- TO GET A LITTLE BIT OF LISA GJ2 TO BE EMULATED WITHIN RED HAT 8.0 LINUX WHEN YOU HAVE A MONITOR WHICH IS 3*4 (WIDTH*HEIGHT) PROPORTION AND, IDEALLY, SOMEWHAT HIGHER IN RESOLUTION THAN 1024*768 AT 256 COLORS OR MORE, SO THAT THE FRAME CAN BE SHOWN TOGETHER WITH OTHER THINGS; AND WITH A SPEED WHICH IS AT LEAST FIVE TIMES AND BETTER TEN-TWENTY TIMES AS FAST AS THAT WHICH IS NECESSARY TO RUN THE LISA GJ2 IN ITS OWN OPERATING PLATFORM, SINCE THE PERFORMANCE IS EXCEEDINGLY SLOW COMPARED TO THE REAL FULL FIRTH LISA GJ2 AS AT http://www.yoga4d.com/city. BUT IT IS EXTREMELY COMPATIBLE! THE MOUSE WILL SHOW FUNNY -- NOT AS THE ELEGANT BALLET FOOT SYMBOL I'VE DRAWN, BUT RATHER AS -- WELL YOU'LL SEE. [[NO CHANGES TO THE DOSBOX SOURCES OR DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN DONE HERE -- IT IS SELECTED FROM dosbox.sourceforge.net SO AS TO FIT WITH RH8 LINUX.]] [[The earlier documents -- programs GJ2NEW1..GJ2NEW11 as well as the earlier HINTS1..5 all talk of bridge2 as something which emulates GJ2 but it turned out Java is not of high quality enough. So this instead. This can produce .BMP 256 in RH8 Linux with Amharic which can be turned into .GIF 256 -- very compact format for script -- with the command cd /backup4/boehm/boehmian followed by gimp *.BMP in which case you select, by right-clicking over each image, the Image / Mode / indexed (255 colors), followed by, with right-clicking over each image, File->Save As with the .gif extension. So this provides the emulation after all. It can handle also the .gjp format but is quicker for text than images, so unless the PC is extremely rapid it has usages which are more text-oriented. It should however be good for typing-in while also doing other things at the web. If need by, modify the parameters in /backup5/conf.txt as to priority and cpu speed. Be careful as to modication of the memory settings, if too small it will be extremely slow, if too high it will produce page fault errors.]] [[SO THIS IS ESPECIALLY for those who have the RIGHT size display: with the exact undeletable proportions 1024*768 but possibly with more pixels than that -- and certainly several megabytes available on the videocard, for at least 256 colors, without any peculiar drivers with password unlocking of videoram as found on inboard-intel-videodrivers and others with contract-locking with commercialized operating systems. The monitor should be compatible with the three in height and four in width approach, and entirely of the open standard VESA type. This is part of the standard worldwide PC description of the Y2000 type. NOTE THAT IF YOU HAVE NOT MORE THAN 256 COLORS GOING IN RH8 LINUX THEN THERE WILL BE A COMPRESSION OF THE OTHERWISE 256 SPRING GREEN COLORS INSIDE THE LISA EMULATION, LEADING TO CRUDER IMAGES, WHEN IT IS SHOWN AS A WINDOW.]] [[There will be some error messages while the various applications are performed in this emulation, which can be safely ignored, as long as they don't actually interfere with the Lisa program performance.]] [[On all such installation documents there can be occasional slight mistakes as for what is the command to be typed in -- a line may be missing, or a command has got slightly wrong shape; yet this is checked rather carefully, but just in case, look at each such installation document as this with care before you begin, and use your mind, and if in doubt do such as ls to write on screen the available documents in the present folder. For instance, if a command like cd /foldername has been forgotten, this will then be easy to correct by you yourself. I know there are some slight mistakes on some earlier installation documents but nothing big. I have had unexpectedly great use for the wine firefox command, by the way, but some documents on the net comes with too much of the screen blackened and the solution then can be to click on the text, press CTR-A, and wait for all the text to appear in the 'selected' mode, in which case the background of the text as overridden. Such tricks one must get used to. It is however to be hoped that the standard RH8 approach to Internet as power-enabled quite uniquely at my sites www.yoga4d.com and www.yoga6d.com, in ways which is declared rather impossible when one searches on other sites for same info on how to do things with RH8, will be a measure of all things web, eventually.]] ALL THIS IS BASED ON ENTIRELY OPEN SOURCE LICENSED ACCORDING TO THE GNU COPYLEFT LICENSE OR SIMILAR NOBLE LICENSES USED BY THE OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY: ANY PROGRAM CONTAINED HEREIN WHICH IS NOT PROVIDED WITH FULL CONTRIB-INFO AND FULL LICENSE INFO IS FOUND WITH ALL THIS WITHIN THE ENTIRE PLATFORM OF THE FIRTH LISA OAC AS AVAILABLE ALWAYS AT THE http://www.yoga4d.com/download LOCATION IN THE SUBSECTION "lisa" AND WITH INSTALL INFO IN "install.txt" THERE, AND FURTHERMORE, IN THE UPDATE OF FIRTH LISA TO FIRTH LISA GJ2 IN THE LINK FOUND AT http://www.yoga4d.com/city. ALL FURTHER DISTRIBUTIONS OF THIS MATTER AS CONTAINED WITHIN THIS DOSBOX EMULATION DISTRIBUTION MUST RESPECT ALL LICENSES IN PARTICULAR AND IN GENERAL FOLLOW THE http://www.yoga4d.com/cfdl.txt LICENSE WHICH MEANS THAT THE WHOLENESS AND INTEGRITY OF EACH COMPONENT AND OF THE ENTIRE PACKAGE IS RETAINED. Since I found that I could not disgrace Lisa GJ2 with a Java emulation of it -- Java does not have high enough quality -- the question then remained, what if a person wishes to use the excellent RH8 Linux, as enabled, after install from yoga6d.com/city links to my yoga4d.com/download area, the (little bit complicated) INSTALL.TXT there, and upgraded slowly and carefully with all the options as listed at the BRIDGE2 minigj2 panel, in the textual menues there, referring to HINTS1..HINTS5 also, -- and at the same time do at least A LITTLE BIT running e.g. of the new Amharic editor that I've written in Lisa GJ2. I mean, I wrote it on the premise that it can also be used to produce GIF files. It produces, inside the full Firth Lisa environment, BMP files which are easily and quickly converted to GIF files, but what if you want to do it while also using e.g. wine firefox (or the ie55, or the mozilla-1.3) command on the net, and get the files quickly accessed? Here's how (it works with RH8 Linux and similar): Get hold of hints6.zip, you find it at yoga6d.com/hints6.zip. Then remove the /backup5 directory if you have any, first safely backuping any valuable stuff in it to somewhere else. So write this, having the hints6.zip at the top, the / area, logged in as root. The programs as here found contain absolutely all original sources and acknowledgements and are fully gnu.org/copyleft - ed, and so very valuable open source found at sourceforge.net, and I have added a little stuff also found inside the very very vast and popular Firth LISA_OAC platform, enough to get a selection of some program running in an emulation fashion, but let's keep in mind the VAST difference between any emulation and the REAL ORIGINAL THING ;) This stuff will permanently occupy a little place in backup5 and backup4 but can be easily reinstalled several times I presume. I have not tried it on a 'bare' RH8; I have installed all the very very many extras for RH8 in the sequence that follows the hints files and the dates inside the many help documents I have provided alongside and inside the relevant .zip files I have made available for you. (Reason I have used backup4 and backup5 for these is that I wish to remind the interactor with this mode of employing the valuable Firth Lisa GJ2 programs that this is an 'extra' way of doing it, not the real way.) Have fun!!! [[be exceedingly precise and careful whenever you see a line that begins with rm and which also contains the -fr in it. As a rule, just as when you drive a car along a sideway and are going to enter into a strongly trafficked road, and you actually stop the car motion and look before you drive on, so also you should, as an automatic and even subconscious response, always look at such lines and not press ENTER before you have with full attentive awareness evaluated whether the statement is correct.]] cd / rm /backup5 -fr rm /backup4 -fr unzip hints6 cd /backup5 tar -xf d* cd d* ./configure make Here you take some deep breaths; you meditate on love and light and fun joy and such; and also you deftly ignore any WARNINGS and stuff and allow the screen to bathe in mysterious and sweet-smelling oaths (compilation statements). Only if the stuff exits with the word 'error' on the final line will there be a reason to look at what's what, and then the most likely reason is that the Linux is not quite compatible or the PC is not quite compatible or the stuff which should have been added to the Linux in the earlier hints has not been added yet; or else that you have done some installation of something peculiar which has altered some features of the Linux -- in which case the likely solution is to backup all your valuable stuff and then do a complete reformat of the harddisk and feel the lovely radiance of the new clean harddisk you get that way. Then, when the ./configure has produced its number of messages and the make has produced it many more messages you can type -- and indeed you can type this each time you start it up -- cd /backup5/d*/src ./dosbox -conf /backup5/conf.txt For purely textual mode, such as to do some arithmetic, and to switch between full-screen and a frame -- which is very important in order to exit a program which has stopped -- remember, pls, CTRL-ALT-LINESHIFT as the toggle between the two modes. (The CTRL is optional, the EX3D from the Allegro package shows that the mouse pointer is not always entirely updated as expected; doing a couple of the CTRL-ALT-LINESHIFT will often cleanse the screen.). [[You can --naturally -- put those two lines in a file called e.g. petite.sh to which you do chmod 777 petite.sh and then start with ./petite.sh when you have cd'ed into the folder that has the petite.sh, and the file petite.sh you can create with gedit petite.sh]] If you have other programs open, and you want additional speed, close those other programs. But in the real Firth Lisa GJ2 operating approach context it is many many many times faster for the very same PC. Then type (and do not add anything to /backup4 from RH8 after you have done the following command in each session, the /backup4 becomes the C: inside the dosbox -- which by the way seems to handle uppercase and lowercase equally well as for filenames, but I have put the included files in /backup4/boehm/boehmian which becomes the C:\BOEHM\BOEHMIAN in uppercase just in case and for consistency of appearance): lisa petite And press LINESHIFT after its startup message as I've prepared it (here, you wait, and how long depends on whether the PC has MANY gigahertz or not -- if it is not highly speedy compared to what is otherwise necessary to run Linux, it will takes many minutes) The petite is the same, rather, as the GJ2-Y2PC.TXT in the GJ2.ZIP standard package I provide at the yoga4d.com/city links, with the Yoga4d CFDL copyright. [[The ISBN numbers referred to for the manual and for the uncompleted 2007 physics book were not used, I have a series of ISBN numbers for my company since it is registered as a publisher; rather the 2009 Philosophy of the infinite: notes on my Firth Lisa GJ2 will contain both physics as Lisa GJ2 syntax info and will have one of these ISBN numbers, and will be available, in contrast to them, at the National Library of Norway this summer, sometime, cfr nb.no, which also has an English section; and confer the yoga4d.com/talks series, as well as the stamash section).]] Then, e.g., type :am in (and/or other programs, but don't push it too hard, it's just a fucking emulator -- even the CPU is simulated; these guys have done a fantastic tough job.) And when done, at command line (which you can get to by typing the command xo when in the GJ2 in interactive fashion), type the word exit And the emulator context finishes. Or else do the CTRL-ALT-ENTER and close the window e.g. by ALT-F4 or by clicking on it. In some cases, CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to quit the whole graphics mode of the RH8 Linux, and then startx to start it again, or else use the reboot command there. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PROGRAMMING AND WITH APPLICATIONS IN LISA GJ2 -- IN ANY CONTEXT!!!! ===================================================== Aristo Tacoma P.S. ==== For those interested in working on sketching electric circuits with transistors and such, there are good sketches found, at present date, at http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk, a relevant link is e.g. http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk/Circuits/rf/amtx.htm and this site recommends a freeware sketch and electronic simulation program at http://www.linear.com, the present correct link is: http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/#Spice The presently available program there, at the time of writing this, is an excellent .exe windows program, to which many sketches are available in a separate .zip and also on other websites, and, lo and behold, if you have supercharged your RH8 young veteran car with the wine on my sites then wine LTSpiceIV.exe installs it, and then starts it PERFECTLY.
